Day 13…

Posted by mandyhuckins on April 13, 2009

Thursday was our first shopping day in Myrtle Beach.  It was the day they had waited for throughout the entire trip.  As we came over an overpass and caught site of the outlets, the excitement rose to a fever pitch.  The first and most important stop was the Adidas outlet.  Nothing like coming all the way from Germany to be able to afford your own brands, right?  It was a buy one, get one 50% off on everything in the store, and we all took advantage of that.  Tommy Hilfiger, Puma and Aeropostale were other big successes.  We left in the mid-afternoon with plenty of shopping bags.   We stopped at the beach for about an hour.  They went for a walk, while I reclined on a blanket and read my book and napped.  Bliss.

They also really wanted to go by the mall to check in with Myrtle Beach’s Hollister and Abercrombie.  After that, it was time to head home for another home cooked meal courtesy of Mom and Dad.  They are such wonderful, accomodating people.  On my recommendation, they had planned to serve grilled pork tenderloin, rebaked potatoes and roasted vegetables.  This turned out to be Elena’s favorite meal of the whole trip.  The weary shoppers fell into bed early to prepare for another day and I was able to chit-chat with my mom until 12:30 pm.  Bliss x 2.
